How do I clean my kettle with cleaning vinegar?
The tap water in the Netherlands is hard. This means that the water usually contains a lot of limescale particles, which leads to limescale build-up. It is a good idea to descale your kettle from time to time, as limescale build-up occurs in your kettle over time. This limescale forms a layer around the heating element, which means it takes the kettle longer and longer to bring the water to the boil.
If you descale your kettle in good time, you’ll solve the problem of limescale and the kettle continues to work properly. The best way to prevent limescale build-up is, of course, to use a descaler.
Electric kettle cleaning vinegar
You can clean your kettle with cleaning vinegar. This takes about 20 minutes.
Step 1.
Mix water with cleaning vinegar. The ratio should be roughly 50/50.
Step 2.
Pour the mixture into the kettle so that the limescale is completely submerged in the cleaning vinegar mixture.
Step 3.
Switch on the kettle and wait until the water boils.
Step 4.
Leave it to cool for a quarter of an hour, then empty the kettle.
Step 5.
Rinse the kettle thoroughly a few times until you can no longer smell the cleaning vinegar.
Step 6.
Dry the kettle with a towel.
