Fact: Our water softeners do their job quietly

We are often asked about the noise made by a water softener would cause during the water-softening process. There is no such noise, as the water flows silently through your pipes. The water softener does not add any noise during the water-softening process; you won’t notice a thing.

During regeneration/rinsing (which the water softener only carries out every few days), the valves in the water softener must be set to the rinse position. This is done mechanically in water softeners that do not require electricity, and electronically in all other water softeners. This produces a faint humming sound for about a minute. If your water softener is located in the meter cupboard, you will need to open the cupboard door to hear this; it’s nothing to worry about.

So you really don’t need to worry about being woken up by the sound of the flush.
