Fact: Water softeners are good for the environment

It is true, however, that the use of a water softener is associated with the use of salt. Salt itself is not harmful to the environment. In the winter of 2014–2015, for example, around 100 million kilograms of road salt ended up on the streets, and even such quantities do not cause environmental problems. Nevertheless, we want to minimise salt consumption as much as possible; this is good for your wallet and for the environment.
