Simply pour some water into a test tube and add a few drops of the water hardness testing solution. Water hardness test kit from Mooiwater
- Rinse the test tube with water
- Fill the test tube with water up to the 5ml mark
- Add 1 drop of test liquid and shake the tube. The water will then turn red or green. With the first drop, the colour is still a bit difficult to see
- Keep adding drops and shake after each drop. Do this until the colour changes from red to green. Red indicates hard water, green indicates soft water. The number of drops added indicates the hardness. So 6 drops = 6dH.
