Why is salt important when using a water softener?
Water softening salt is essential for your water softener to work at its best. It ensures that the resin beads in the softener are regularly cleaned, so that they continue to remove limescale effectively from your tap water. During the water-softening process, the resin beads become saturated with calcium and magnesium particles. Regeneration salt is used to clean these beads, allowing them to bind limescale once more and convert hard water into soft water. Without sufficient salt, your water softener cannot function properly. Our high-quality salt tablets are specially designed for water softeners. They dissolve evenly, prevent blockages and ensure reliable regeneration of the resin beads. This ensures your water softener always performs at its best.
Water softening salt in buckets
Our water softener salt comes in handy 12.5kg buckets. This means you don’t have to spend ages lugging around large, heavy sacks. The buckets are easy to stack, and once you’ve used up the salt, you can either reuse them for something else or return them to get your €4 deposit back. Thanks to the buckets, your salt is always ready for use and isn’t unnecessarily exposed to moisture. This means our buckets can be stored anywhere. Whether you want to keep them in the cupboard or in the shed, it doesn’t matter because they’re in buckets!

When is the best time to order salt?
Once you’ve emptied your last bucket into the salt reservoir, it’s high time to order some new salt. Our Mini Plus can run for an average of 2 to 3 months with a full salt reservoir, but the Grande can even continue to soften your water for 6+ months (this obviously depends on your water consumption). If you order salt from us at that point, we can have it delivered to you before then, and you can enjoy soft water again!
