Soft water reduces the amount of soap, shampoo and cleaning products used

Is it really the case that softened water Does it mean you use less soap and detergent? Yes, that’s right.

One of the properties of limescale is that it binds with soap, shampoo and cleaning products. This means that the limescale present in the water must, as it were, first be neutralised by these products. Only then can they carry out their actual purpose, such as washing your hair, cleaning your washing-up or washing your clothes. This allows the products to do exactly what they’re meant to do straight away, and you’ll need far less of them. You’ll also notice that when you use soft water, it lathers much more quickly when you add cleaning products or shampoo.

Better for your skin

So, in most cases, you’ll only use half – or even less – of what you’re used to. That’s good for the environment and your wallet; we call that ‘sustainable comfort’. It’s also better for your skin and hair. Special washing powder and dishwasher detergent for soft water

One of the major advantages of a water softener is that, as well as keeping your dishwasher free of limescale, you’ll need to use less soap when cleaning, and therefore less washing-up liquid too.
