Myth: A water softener causes water consumption to rise significantly due to regular flushing
A beautiful water water softener rinses the resin in the cylinder only when necessary. The frequency of this rinsing depends on the size of the water softener, the local water hardness and water consumption. With a water consumption of 150m³ and a hardness of 8dH, this results in approximately 2 flushes per month for our medium-sized water softener. Each rinse cycle uses approximately 100 litres of water. This results in an increase in your water consumption of less than 3% and corresponds to an additional cost of around €0.50 per month. This is therefore negligible.
