Small water softener

You’d like a water softener but are wondering ‘Do I have enough space? ’Where can I put the water softener in a suitable spot?’ Well, we have the solution. Because the Mooiwater has plenty of small water softeners in its range. This compact water softener fits just about anywhere and is suitable for households of between one and four people.

Water softener in the meter cupboard

The small descaler fits with convenience in almost every meter cupboard. Even our larger models Thanks to their handy size, they often fit easily into your meter cupboard. This means the water softener doesn’t get in the way and you can easily access it to top up the salt. Because the ‘Mooiwater’ water softener is so economical If it’s that size, you won’t need to top it up very often, but you do, of course, need to be able to reach it easily.

Is a small water softener also suitable for several people?

It is important to note that all our water softeners, both the largest As the smallest, they can always supply sufficient soft water (flow rate of 45 litres per minute). What’s more, they all use salt sparingly. However, as the capacity of the salt tank varies, when choosing between a large and a small water softener, you’ll need to bear in mind that with a small water softener, you’ll need to top up the salt slightly more often (but not more!) than with a larger one.

It may therefore be advisable to opt for a smaller water softener due to a lack of space.

Installing your compact water softener

The Mooiwater water softener is installed as close as possible to the water meter connected, so that you have soft water throughout your home. Together with our adviser, you can decide on the best location for the water softener. The meter cupboard is often chosen as the best location for the water softener.

Thanks to our many years of experience, we always find a suitable solution. There’s always somewhere to install a water softener. Because the Mooiwater water softener As it’s so economical, you won’t need to top it up very often, but of course you still need to be able to reach it easily.

Advantages and disadvantages of a small water softener

The advantages of a small water softener are, of course, that it is cheaper and can be installed (almost) anywhere. But does a small water softener also have any disadvantages?

There are some drawbacks, though it’s up to you to decide whether you consider them a disadvantage. Firstly, if you use a lot of water, you’ll need to top up the salt more often because the salt tank is smaller. A second drawback could be that you run out of soft water halfway through the day (though you’d have to use a great deal of water in a single day for this to happen). A third drawback is that the system regenerates more frequently because it naturally has a smaller resin tank. However, this last drawback doesn’t really affect you either, as the water softener regenerates overnight. In theory, this could cause parts to wear out more quickly, but Mooiwater water softeners have a very long service life (up to 20 years).
