Fact: Harsh cleaning products are no longer necessary

Strong cleaning products are needed to limescale build-up in your coffee machine, shower cubicle, kettle or taps. Softened water no longer contains limescale, so there’s never any need to remove limescale (or limescale deposits) again. It’s as simple as that. As the saying goes: prevention is better than cure. We call it sustainable comfort.

The appliance is indicating that it needs descaling, even though I have a water softener

If, despite all this, your appliance still indicates that it needs descaling, this is because the appliance in question is set by the manufacturer to descale regularly. You can specify in the appliance whether you have softer or harder water, but it is usually not possible to set the hardness to 0.

You have two options: either ignore the message completely, or run a descaling cycle without adding any descaling agent. The appliance will then still think that it has been descaled and will leave you in peace for the time being.
