Myth: I’ve run out of salt; that’s bad for my water softener
There may be times when you run out of salt. Usually, the system will still be able to supply several m³ of softened water, but eventually you’ll run out of soft water. You’ll notice this straight away, as soft water really does feel different from hard water (and if you have the Excellence series, you’ll hear an alarm).
Fortunately, this has absolutely no negative impact on your water softener. The only thing is that you won’t have soft water until the salt has been topped up again; that’s all.
Once you have topped up the salt, it is, of course, important to carry out a forced rinse cycle. You can find out how to do this in the information booklet provided or by watching the instructional video.
Once the rinse cycle is complete, your water softener will immediately start supplying soft water again, and you can get back to enjoying it without a care in the world.
