Here’s how to move your water softener with you.

If you’re moving house, you’ll be faced with a choice: do I take my water softener with me to my new home, or do I sell my house with the water softener included?.

1. Buying a new water softener

A water softener naturally increases the value of your home, so it makes perfect sense to sell the water softener along with your house. Given the benefits that a water softener brings, it therefore makes sense to install another one in your new home water softener would like to have. Sometimes this is already included, but often it isn’t. You should therefore enquire about the options available to you, as a regular customer, for a new water softener. Request a quote here.

2. Moving a water softener

The second option is to take your water softener with you when you move house. You can choose to do this yourself (see the instructions below) or you can use the Mooiwater removal service. We will then ensure that your water softener is disconnected properly and that the pipework is restored to its original condition. We will then reinstall your Mooiwater water softener in your new home.

How do you move a water softener?

If you are going to move the water softener yourself, you will need to follow these steps.

Step 1. Place the water softener on the by-pass mode and turn off the main tap.

Step 2. Remove the water softener, including the hoses. You may be able to reuse the hoses at your new home.

Step 3. Make sure the drain is sealed again.

Step 4. Reconnect the water supply from the main tap using a hose or connector fitted to the original hose to which the water softener was connected.

Step 5. Connect the water softener in your new home in accordance with the instructions.
