De waterhardheid in Nederland<\/a> verschilt heel erg: dit loopt uiteen van iets meer dan 2 dH tot wel 15 dH. Dit komt omdat water soms uit kalkarme bronnen gewonnen wordt, zoals oppervlaktewater (rivieren, beken) of water uit de duinen.
